Alive at 25

Alive at 25 is a FREE defensive driving class taught by law enforcement officers with the goal of lowering teen/young adult automobile accidents. It is a 4 1/2 hour driver’s awareness course designed by the National Safety Council for young drivers between the ages of 15-24 which includes:

  • Defensive driving classroom curriculum: Gain awareness and develop strategies to keep safe on the road.
  • Decision-making and responsibility-taking: Learn through interactive media, workbook exercises, role-playing, and class discussions.

You do not need to have a learner’s permit or a drivers license to take the class. If you have been given a ticket/citation by a police officer and meet the age requirements, you have the POSSIBILITY of receiving a reduction or dismissal of your charge upon successful completion of the class.

What you need to know

  • Taking the class does NOT guarantee that your ticket (charge) will be reduced or dismissed.
  • The prosecutor in your case will make that decision based upon the circumstances of your citation and your prior driving history.
  • An Alive at 25 reduction or dismissal based upon the successful completion of the class may only be granted once.
  • Prosecutors generally look favorably upon drivers who complete the class.
  • All available courses are listed on the official Alive at 25 website listed below along with dates, times, locations and how many seats are still available. You just need to enter our zip code and state.
  • If you end up being tardy/late then you will need to reschedule for the next class, they typically do not allow late comers to the class.

Registration Guidelines

We recommend that you register for a course through the official Alive at 25 website.

We do not accept same day registrations or walk-up students due to the limited seats available.

Because of the high demand for our classes, we recommend you register at least 7 days in advance for a class. We reserve the right to cancel a course due to low enrollment, weather, or unforeseen emergencies. If your course is cancelled, you will be notified by an instructor and have the opportunity to apply to a new course date.
