WHO: City Council President Luke Cavener, Meridian Police Chief Tracy Basterrechea, and Meridian Anti-Drug Coalition (MADC) Director Kendall Nagy will provide introductions. The featured speaker will be Benjamin Seymour, President of Southworth Associates, sharing his experience as a person in long-term recovery and the importance of access to treatment.

WHAT: The Meridian Anti-Drug Coalition (MADC) presents the 19th Annual Recovery Day Breakfast, held during the Month of September in honor of National Recovery Month.

“Listening to different perspectives and supporting each other is one of the many ways Meridian comes together as a community. This special annual event helps celebrate those in recovery and helps us learn how we can be better at supporting those who have not yet begun that journey,” said Kendall Nagy, MADC Director.

Guest speaker Benjamin Seymour, President of Southworth Associates, oversees the State of Idaho's Health Professionals Recovery Program and the Idaho State Bar's Lawyers Assistance Program. With over 24 years in recovery, he will share his experience as a person in long-term recovery and the importance of access to treatment.

“Thank you to MADC for continuing to celebrate recovery. This event is a great reminder of the impacts of addiction and the lives that are lived in recovery,” said Mayor Robert Simison. “As we celebrate those in recovery, the families and resource providers, I urge anyone struggling with substance abuse to reach out and find the support necessary to end the cycle of addiction.”
